Overseas Suitability Screening
All beneficiaries facing a PCS overseas or traveling abroad for leisure must book a pre-travel consultation. This health care assessment is focused around the overseas traveler's itinerary, risks and needs.
The goal of the pre-travel consultation is to prepare travelers with the appropriate counseling, vaccinations and medications to help reduce their risk of illness during travel. The appointment should be made four to six weeks prior to travel in order to complete all necessary immunizations.
However, it is recommended that all family members visit the Travel Clinic even if traveling on short notice. All active duty personnel overseas physicals will be conducted by their primary care provider in conjunction with the Joint Medical Readiness Clinic.
For an appointment, call the Travel Clinic at 301-677-8402. The Travel Clinic is located at T-2473, in the trailers next to the Kimbrough facility (across from the Armed Forces Wellness Center).
