Command Sergeant Major, MEDDAC, Fort George G. Meade

CSM Das’Chara Champ

Command Sergeant Major Das’Chara Champ currently serves as the Command Sergeant Major to the Fort Meade MEDDAC which includes multiple U.S. Army health clinics.  In this role, she serves as the Fort Meade MEDDAC commander’s principal military advisor on all enlisted matters affecting training, utilization, health of the force in order to maintain medically ready and ready medical forces to support the Army mission.

CSM Das’Chara Champ is a native from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, raised in South Carolina. She began her career in the U.S. Army on 24 February 1999 as Healthcare Administration. She completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonardwood, Missouri and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sam Houston, TX.

Her assignments include Patient Administration Specialist, at Geibelstadt Army Health Clinic, Geibelstadt Germany. Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, sustaining different duties within the Patient Administration Division. 45th Sustainment Brigade, Schofield Barracks, HI as Medical Regulating NCO. 45th Sustainment Brigade, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom FOB Q-West, as Medical Regulating NCO. Warrior Transition Battalion A Co, Squad Leader. WTB, C Co, Platoon Sergeant. Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, HI as Equal Opportunity Advisor. CSM Champ’s civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a core in Human Resource Management, and a Masters Degree in Strategic Leadership (Cum Laude) from Trident University International.   

CSM Champ’s awards and decorations include Meritorious Service Medal (w/5 OLC); Army Commendation Medal (w/ 3 OLC); Army Achievement Medal (w/ 2 OLC); Army Good Conduct Medal (7th Award); National Defense Service Medal; Afghanistan Campaign Medal (w/1 star); Iraq Campaign Medal (w/ 2 star); Global War on Terrorism Service Medal (GWTSM); Armed Forces Service Medal; NCO Professional Development Ribbon (5th numeral); Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon (Num 3); NATO Ribbon, and a receipt of the Order of Military Medical Merit (O2M3).
