The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

If you have a scheduled appointment or other business at the MTF, please verify with your provider or applicable office within the MTF to ensure there are no changes in schedule. To learn how the lapse in appropriations affects your TRICARE benefit, visit www.tricare.mil/shutdown

Starting Jan. 1, 2023: Request Electronic Prescription from Providers

By Kimbrough Public Affairs Office

The National Capital Region Market will transition to a new electronic health record in March 2023. Beginning January 1, 2023, please have your provider send your prescriptions electronically to military pharmacies for all non-controlled drugs.
NCR Market pharmacies
will no longer accept routine hardcopy or paper prescriptions.

The electronic prescription is a computer-generated prescription sent electronically from your health care provider directly to our pharmacy. Electronic prescriptions are sent using a private, secure, and closed network. It can help prevent medication errors, suggest alternative drugs to save money, and process prescriptions more efficiently.

Once the electronic prescription is sent directly from your providers to our pharmacy, please remember to contact the pharmacy to activate your prescription.
Don't forget to keep your family's information up-to-date in DEERS.
